Current Status
Zooomr is Launched! (03:15am PST, June 3, 2007) still working on some traffic issues but getting there.
Launched - but temporarily down
while Kristopher tweaks some network settings (traffic shaping) and
checks photo privacy settings are being accurately enforced.
Kristopher has encouraged Zooomr users to let
Raju at Zoho know how much his (and Zoho's) help is appreciated.
Outstanding Issues
- Needs to be sure that the servers won't go down again when Zooomr goes live again.
- The Sun x4500 Thumper (which is a loaner) needs 220V to run all 48 500GB SATA disks. The rack has 110V so only partial SAN is operating.
Resolved Issues
- Kris was extremely tired and needed sleep.
- Zooomr Blog which was not saving new posts is now working and Thomas has posted a new update on the blog.
- Blogged photos are now available and static.zooomr.com is back online.
- When moving to the new data center it was noted
that the kit would hit the rack limit of 2000 watts, this was resolved
by moving some pieces of kit to an adjacent rack. [Note: Which kit?]
- The database server that fell over after 10 minutes of going live was caused by a faulty RAID controller, which DELL repaired.
Of Note
- Zooomr is now hosted from the Zoho racks, allowing them to move over to a far faster fibre connection.
- As
of 8:15 pm PDT June 1st: Kristopher and Scoble are on their way to the
datacenter to do some work. They will livestream from there. They have done their stint. Here for history
